Rows Saved for Families with Infants/Toddlers
Everyone is welcome to worship in our sanctuary, including families wishing
to keep their little ones with them during the service. To help accommodate
you, we have reserved the last four rows in both the far north and south
aisles, downstairs. There will be a designated secure area on 55th Street
for strollers, and our ushers will be happy to direct you and assist you.
The
Family Ministries Committee provides programs and events that will cultivate
the spiritual formation of our children, youth, and families at FAPC.
Our staff, volunteers, and parent leaders believe in the power and purpose
of programs that nurture our families through all the stages of a child's
faith development.
Starting with infants, who can participate with their parents in Kindership
events, and going through graduating seniors, who can participate in
Senior
High Youth programs, our Family Ministries programs seek to provide fellowship,
education, and service opportunities for everyone in the family.

WORSHIPPING WITH CHILDREN
At Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, we welcome children into our sanctuary.
Their presence in there grows out of the Biblical conviction that children
are an integral part of the worshipping community. We also believe that
worship is one of the basic ways that children learn what it means to
be a Christian. There are a number of ways we include children in worship:
- A special
area in the back of the sanctuary dedicated to families with children.
- Worship
packets are available from an usher to help curb restlessness in young
worshippers.
- Children’s
Choir and Youth Choir are a regular part of our worship experience.
- Children’s
Worship each Sunday, as part of the Sunday School program, helps children
learn how to worship in an age-appropriate setting.
Parents' Night Out
An opportunity for parents to have a well-deserved night out while their
children are in the care and supervision of FAPC caregivers and Family
Ministries volunteers. It is always the third Friday of each month
from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm, and is $6/child.
Baptisms
Baptisms are conducted regularly as part of the Sunday services.
For information about scheduling a baptism please contact Carole White in the
Church Office, cwhite@fapc.org or
212.247.0490, ext. 3029.
Sunday
Bulletin Lists Births and Adoptions
The Kindership group of Family Ministries is keeping track of new baby
births and adoptions within the congregation. These new births and adoptions
will be listed in the Sunday bulletin on the third Sunday of each month.
