The Women's Association of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church brings together the women (and men!) of the church in a year-round program of education, service, prayer and benevolence.
Our major fundraising event is the annual Joy of Christmas Bazaar, held the first weekend of November. Donations of new or gently used clothing, artwork, decorative items, antiques, linens, women's accessories, and jewelry are accepted throughout the year. (We are not looking for books, toys, electrical appliances or kitchen items.)
Funds raised by the Women's Association benefit the ministries of the church, as well as more than 35 service organizations in New York City and around the world.
We invite you to join us for any of our weekly programs:
Coffee Hour. Teams of volunteers pour coffee and tea, and greet members and visitors following worship every Sunday in Bonnell Hall (2nd Floor).
Craft Group. The Craft Group meets on Mondays, from 10:30 am until 3:30 pm, to make original, hand-crafted items that we sell at the annual Joy of Chistmas Bazaar.
Items may be purchased throughout the year by contacting the Women's Association office (212.247.0490, x3041). We also send along many of our hand-crocheted and knitted afghans as gifts to our homebound members and to others in need.
Prayer Group. We meet on Mondays at 11 am in the Romeyn Room to offer prayers and supplications on behalf of our community and for persons in need around the world.
Speaking English. Volunteer tutors work one-on-one for an hour with students hoping to improve their English proficiency. Classes meet from 1:30 until 3:30 pm every Tuesday in the Corning Logan Room. New volunteers and new students are always welcome!
Weekly Luncheon. On Tuesdays, the Women's Association meets for lunch and programs that feature guest speakers and a variety of entertainment. The event begins at noon in Bonnell Hall. Lunch is $10 for Women's Association members and $15 for non-members. Afterward, the Mary Jane Lightbown Bridge Club plays on until 4:30 pm.

Dues are $15 per year, which cover the operating costs of the Women's Assocation office. For information, contact Rita Arlen at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or 212.247.0490, ext. 3041.
