Ushers and Greeters

Ushers and GreetersFAPC stands firmly behind its statement "All are welcome," posted outside the front doors of the sanctuary, by offering a warm welcome and handshake to everyone for our Sunday and other special worship services. The ministry of hospitality, supported by five rotating teams of church members, is the first FAPC outreach effort that many people experience.

This is the Church's largest volunteer organization, and it provides many opportunities for leadership, service, and hospitality. Ushers/Greeters serve a minimum of once every five weeks (on one of five teams), or they may be assigned to a floater team (number six) for special events only. Teams meet briefly before serving, and they meet as an entire group two to four times a year for special breakfasts or for training sessions. Meetings are held in Bonnell Hall or the Chapel. An annual Ushers/Greeters meeting is held two weeks before Palm Sunday and is open to all who would like to learn about the group's role within The Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. The Ushers/Greeters need reliable, conscientious, energetic, caring and dedicated people.
