Bowery Mission Worship Service
Sunday, May 25, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Volunteers are needed to assist in an informal worship service at this historic mission at the corner of Bowery and Prince Streets. We need prayers, hymn singers, greeters, and lesson readers. Also, six volunteers are needed to serve over 100 homeless men and women dinner after the service.

Help Us Show Some Pride
Sunday, June 29
Volunteers, marchers and donations are needed to support Presbyterian Welcome's float in the June 29th Heritage of Pride March. The group needs help both here at FAPC and at First Presbyterian Church (West 12th Street and 5th Avenue). You can march, coordinate, pass out water bottles and generally support the group.
Vacation Bible School Assistant
Monday - Friday, August 18-22, 9:30 am - Noon

Family Ministries Closet Cleaner
Family Ministries stores all of their supplies in five closets in the Christian Education Center, which can sometimes be untidy and disorganized. Sign up to help restore order. You can help for as little as an hour or an entire afternoon. For more info contact Jacob Bolton at Jbolton@fapc.org.
Sunday School Sunday Morning Greeter
From 9:00 am - 9:45 am on a Sunday morning welcome families to FAPC and to Sunday School, and tell them where to go for classes. No prior training is necessary, just a love of children and FAPC. For more info contact Jacob Bolton at Jbolton@fapc.org.
Calling Loan Rangers!
Help educate low-income New Yorkers about deceptive lending practices and provide alternatives. Distribute flyers to businesses, community groups, schools and other sites in the neighborhoods where Habitat-NYC builds affordable homes. Contact Debbie Mullins at

Website Redesign -
We are looking to revamp the FAPC website and would like our members to be involved. If you have training and experience in Website design and would be willing to help for even a few hours, please contact Michael Coniaris at mconiaris@fapc.org or 212.247.0490.
Hospitality to Homeless on our Steps
There are many different ways you can serve! You can volunteer mornings from 5:30 am - 7:00 am or any night of the week from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Volunteers are also needed to purchase and arrange household items for "Welcome Home" baskets. Contact Stacy Perkins Rock at perkinsrock@hotmail.com.
Project Find
Serve lunch to the elderly at Project Find Coffee House on 9th Avenue following our worship service on the second Sunday of each month. Other Project Find volunteer opportunities that involve helping the elderly West Side residents are also available. Contact Evelyn DiMaria at Dimariafam@aol.com.
Theatre Fellowship Assistant
Can’t act? Help behind the scenes at "The Bicentennial Play". We need people to help with costumes, props, build sets, usher at performances, bake brownies, sell tickets, and more! Help will be needed in late April and May. Contact Janet Luhrs at jalhurs@aol.com.
Medical Care at the Bowery Mission
Doctors, social workers, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nutritionists are needed to provide free medical care and social services to the homeless and the residents of the Bowery Mission every Wednesday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Meals on Heels
Prepare, pack and/or deliver hot meals to the homebound elderly in our church neighborhood. Meals on Heels fills the gap on weekends when Meals on Wheels is not in service. Come to Bonnell Hall, 2nd floor, at 9:30 am to help prepare or 11:15 am to deliver. Contact Bob Brennan at april24bob@aol.com.
Shelter for the Homeless
Each night of the year our shelter provides a safe, comfortable environment for 12 elderly men who are currently awaiting NYC housing. Volunteers are needed to host them in the early evening and overnight in private sleeping quarters. Orientation required. Contact Joe Vedella at jvedella@fapc.org.
Speaking English
If you have an ability to communicate and establish rapport with those from another culture, meet with those for whom English is a second language and help them adjust to life in New York City. We meet on Tuesdays from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm. Contact the Women's Association at 212.247.0490, ext. 3041.
Gift Shop Volunteer
FAPC's new Gift Shop needs help each Sunday between the two services and after the 11:15 am service. Come support the church by helping sell commemorative lapel pins, t-shirts, Christmas ornaments, books, scarves and other items celebrating FAPC's 200 year anniversary. Library Assistant
Help staff the floating library cart (2nd floor during Coffee Hour) and the Gallery Library after both Sunday services. Make books accessible to readers, oversee the withdrawal and return of books, and maintain the catalogue system. Ideally a commitment of one to four hours a month for one year would be appreciated. Interview the Member of the Month
Join our interviewing/writing staff in honoring those members who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to service by volunteering their time and talent and been selected to be FAPC's Volunteer of the Month. Interview requires approximately three hours.

CCS Assistant
Fifth Avenue's primary adult education ministry has a rich and diverse curriculum that brings forth the excitement of learning and the opportunity to deepen and strengthen Christian faith. Help is needed with curriculum development, registration at the Coffee Hours, securing course coordinators, marketing, publicity, and general office support. Contact Mary Bostic at mbostic@fapc.org.
