What is required to get married at FAPC?
- A completed wedding application
- A non-refundable deposit (applied to final balance) of $150
- Completed premarital counseling sessions with officiating pastor
- A meeting with our Director of Music and Fine Arts Ministries
- Final payment made two weeks prior to the wedding date
Do we have to be baptized or members of the church get married at FAPC?
No, there is no baptism or membership requirement to be married at FAPC. However, FAPC members receive a special rate.
How do I schedule a wedding at FAPC?
Return a completed application with your requested wedding date, along with a $150 non-refundable deposit, to Nikki Burks as soon as possible. Based on availability, your request will be confirmed or revised.
Does the church require premarital counseling?
Yes, couples are required to have one or two premarital counseling sessions with the minister officiating the wedding. For those who do not live in the New York City area, it is possible to arrange one longer session via video conference. Supplemental sessions may be scheduled for an additional fee.
Who can serve as an officiating minister?
All weddings at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church are performed by a minister on staff. However, with the prior approval, a visiting minister may perform or assist in the ceremony.
If my fiancée and I live overseas, are we able to marry in your church?
Yes, we perform weddings for couples international and domestic.
Does the church have facilities suitable for a reception following the ceremony?
We have two beautiful reception halls that accommodate wedding receptions large or small. There is a $500 discount for those who schedule their ceremony and reception at the church. We also have a professional in-house catering company that can take care of everything from cocktail receptions to sit-down dinners. Our planning coordinator can provide more information about space rental and other items necessary for your reception.
