6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

Scripture

He had no form or majesty that we should look at him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by others; a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity; and as one from whom others hide their faces he was despised, and we held him of no account. Isaiah 53:2a-3

Reflection

Are there times when the assumptions you make about others, judging by their appearance or demeanor, cause you to miss out on a connection or even a moment of joy with one of God’s own? How do our assumptions mask the faces of Christ we might otherwise see?

Prayer

We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you. Through your faithfulness, you have redeemed the world.
