About Us
Associate Pastor for Young Adults and Membership
Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church has a long tradition of ministry focused on young adults (20 and 30 somethings) who make New York City their home for a formative chapter in their lives and sometimes for a lot longer.
Some of our oldest members first began attending FAPC as members of our young adult program when it was in one of its earliest forms over 70 years ago.
This position focuses on this key constituency—offering pastoral care, coordinating educational, fellowship and outreach opportunities for young adults. At the same time, this pastor works to integrate this subset of the congregation into all aspects of leadership and service.
This position is also responsible for overseeing the church’s New Members program. This means actively seeking to invite new people (through social media, personal contacts and word of mouth) to attend the church. This clergy person provides educational opportunities for prospective new members, and assists new members to become full and active participants in the ministry of Jesus Christ at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.
