The Arts & Our Faith Committee invites you to greet pastor and painter Michael Jinkins on the opening day of a new exhibition of his work, titled A Brush with Transcendence. Jinkins will be in the Chesnut Gallery following worship on Homecoming Sunday. Jinkins’ art is informed principally by the American Abstract Expressionist tradition. The exhibition draws on several series of his works, including Visual Conversations with Poets and Landscapes of the Imagination. In addition to being an accomplished artist, Jinkins is an author, former seminary professor and dean, and an ordained minister with the Presbyterian Church (USA). A longtime friend of this congregation, he was our pastor in residence during the summer of 2021. Read more about the exhibition here.
