Outreach Ministries welcomes the Rev. Deanna Hollas, the gun violence prevention ministry coordinator with the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, in an exploration of the hidden forces behind the United States’ gun violence epidemic and the church can take action toward ending gun violence.

The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship is a nonprofit peacemaking organization affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). “In local and global communities,” its vision statement says, “we will use every nonviolent means to disrupt and transform the culture of domination that normalizes racism, ecocide, militarization, and war.”

In 2019 the Presbyterian Church (USA) ordained the Rev. Hollas as the nation’s first gun prevention minister.
