Beloved Community
The end is reconciliation; the end is redemption; the end is the creation of the Beloved Community. It is this type of spirit and this type of love that can transform opponents into friends. —The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Being in fellowship, sharing day-to-day life with our neighbors, feels increasingly difficult in this divisive world. And yet, this is precisely what Christ calls us to do!
To respond to our Lord’s challenge, the 2024 Winter Sermon Series at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church will explore the nature of Christian community.
We are going to do this through two lenses. We are going to study Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision for “Beloved Community” and we are going to work our way through the Apostle Paul’s description of healthy Christian community as found in the twelfth chapter of the Book of Romans.
Please join us for a conversation that is mission critical for our church and our country.
