This summer Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church launches our new Adult Education podcast, Crossroads.
Join us this Summer 2020 as Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church launches our new Adult Education podcast, Crossroads. Episode one, “Subversive Storytelling” sets the stage for using the power of story during this moment of our nation’s growing movement around racial violence, injustice, and inequality. Episodes two (just released) and three, titled, “This is My Story” will feature the stories of people of color who call us all to listen and learn and move us toward action.
Episode 1: Subversive Storytelling
Episode one features Dr. Kathy Maxwell, biblical storyteller.
Dr. Kathy Maxwell is associate professor of Biblical and theological studies at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She is passionate about biblical storytelling and is certified through the Network of Biblical Storytellers.
Episode 2: This is My Story
We continues our series on storytelling with Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church members Hannah Bell and Salomé Noufele. Opening up about issues of race and racism in their personal lives, Hannah and Salomé also share their hopes for the church in the wake of the recent protests.
About the Host
Jaime Staehle is director of Christian education at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church and a biblical storyteller. One of Jaime’s favorite summertime activities is sitting around a campfire, telling and hearing stories. She enjoys picturing our ancestors telling the stories of their faith around the fire, and loves to see people engage with the stories of their faith today.
