Introducing Our New Online Giving System
An Announcement from Executive Pastor Charlene Han Powell
Dear Friends:
Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church has launched a new system for online contributions, pledge fulfillment, ticket purchases and financial recordkeeping.
This new system, called Pushpay, provides for online contributions through our website (fapc.org/give) and a text-to-give capability (text FAPCGIVE to 77977).
In the coming months, we will bring other Pushpay capabilities online, delivering news updates, upcoming events, our sermon podcast, text notifications and other content in an accessible mobile application.
We have recognized for some time the need to provide members and friends with a simpler, more user-friendly way to make a one-time gift, manage your recurring contributions, or even just purchase a ticket to a church event. After researching the systems in place at other large faith communities, we chose Pushpay for the advantages it offers to our members and the efficiencies it brings to our business operations.
To set up your Pushpay account, go to pushpay.com/onboarding. Account activation takes less than two minutes to complete. We encourage all members to create an account to enjoy the full benefits of this new mobile app.
Your account is password protected. The system will not only enable secure contributions and pledge payments, but will eventually allow you to view your giving history since January 2019 as well.
Members who participated in the fall Pledge Campaign can set up recurring payments in Pushpay to fulfill their pledge commitments for 2020. You will not find the amount of your pledge in the system at this time, but this information will be uploaded in the coming months.
Those members who had recurring payments underway in our prior giving system are currently migrating to Pushpay. The church business office has been in touch with these members directly to ensure that their recurring payments will continue without interruption.
We were fortunate to be ready with Pushpay at the very time we suspended worship services due to the pandemic. Pushpay is now our online offering plate, helping to sustain our ministries at a time when they are more urgently needed than ever.
With the church closed indefinitely, we strongly encourage everyone to send contributions and pledge payments to us electronically. This will help us to limit the frequency of staff going to the church to process paper checks. Of course, we will still gratefully accept your payments by mail if you prefer.
Pushpay is a $120 million, Seattle-based company that processes nearly $5 billion in revenues each year for more than 7,900 churches and other clients in the U.S. and abroad. Learn more about the company and the upcoming features of Fifth Avenue’s mobile app here.
If you have questions about Pushpay, or need help creating your account, please contact Richard Schexnider, director of finance, at [email protected].
Thank you for your generous support of our church.
