Auditions for Noël Coward’s ‘Blithe Spirit’

  • Audio for this sermon will be available on Monday.

The Theatre Fellowship of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church invites members of the church to audition for its upcoming production of Noël Coward’s British drawing room comedy, Blithe Spirit.

Actors must be available to rehearse most weeknights and weekends during February. Performances are set for March 5-15 (evenings at 7 pm, with Sunday matinees at 2).

The play, which debuted in 1941, revolves around a sophisticated novelist, Charles Condomine, who’s in the midst of a hilarious predicament—dealing with the spirit of his first wife, and the reality of his second. In addition to Charles, the cast includes his wives, Ruth (worldly) and Elvira (unworldly); Madame Arcati, a “happy medium”; Dr. and Mrs. Bradman, dinner guests for an evening when spirits abound; and Edith, the maid perplexed by it all.

Please bring a photo, résumé and a two-minute comedic monologue. Reservations are necessary. Contact Janice Hass ([email protected]) to schedule an audition time.

Please note that Equity will permit Equity actors who are church members to participate in this non-Equity production.
