Gun Violence and Racial Justice: How Bad Policy Systematizes Violence for People of Color

Adult Education, the Anti-Racism Response Team and Outreach Ministries jointly sponsor this evening’s conversation with Pastor Gilford Monrose, founding president of the 67th Precinct Clergy Council, a.k.a. The GodSquad. The GodSquad is a Brooklyn-based organization of clergy focused on lessening neighborhood tensions and acting as a liaison between their communities and law enforcement. Monrose also serves as the director of faith-based and community partnerships for the Office of the Mayor of New York City. His work focuses on ending gun violence, building better relationships between the police and the public and improving community health.
