Journeying with our Mission Partners

  • Audio for this sermon will be available on Monday.

Two of our mission partners—Ministry of Hope Lesotho in southern Africa, and Hands Along the Nile Development Services in Egypt—hosted delegations earlier this year that included several members of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. Tonight Outreach Ministries provides a reflective space to hear about our members’ experiences traveling to Lesotho and Egypt.

These were the first on-site visits to our mission partners since the Covid lockdown. The travelers will reflect on how their understanding of each mission partner changed during the trip and the value of understanding our mission partners from a cultural, spiritual and relational encounter.

Ministry of Hope Lesotho is a home for orphaned and vulnerable children. Ministry of Hope provides for the children’s nutrition and schooling as it seeks to provide them with a permanent home, either with relatives or with adoptive families. Learn more about Ministry of Hope Lesotho here.

Hands Along the Nile Development Services seeks to build intercultural ties between the U.S. and Egypt as it works to improve the quality of life for the most impoverished members of Egyptian society. Read more about this mission partner here.

An exhibit on all Fifth Avenue mission partners is on view in the Chesnut Gallery through August.
